Some interesting facts: They can reach speeds of 30-35 mph and this is thier main defence.
An adult tongue is approximately 18 inches in length,has a hooked end and can be used as precise as we can use our fingers. Giraffes rarely lay down,they even sleep and give birth standing up New born giraffe calves begin thier lives by falling six feet to the ground! The giraffe is the worlds tallest animal. You would have to run in order to keep up with a giraffe,as every step a giraffe takes is fifteen foot long. |
